A type of oriental stonehenge in the north-east Indian state of Meghalaya. Meghalaya is one of the very rare countries in the world where a matriarchy still prevails today. The stone fields are at least 4000 years old and provide powerful evidence of the pre-Aryan/pre-Hindu roots of later Indian Tantrism. Photos from 1998.




Eine Art orientalisches Stonehenge im nordostindischen Bundesstaat Meghalaya. Meghalaya ist eines der ganz seltenen Länder der Welt, in denen noch heute ein Matriarchat herrscht. Die Steinfelder sind mindestens 4000 Jahre alt und liefern eindrucksvolle Beweise für die vorarischen/vorhinduistischen Wurzeln des späteren indischen Tantrismus. Fotos während meiner 3.
